A two-day cadaveric course dedicated to the surgical treatment of inguinal, umbilical, and incisional abdominal hernias.
The course combines modern open and minimally invasive techniques, emphasizing the correct selection of methods, safe tissue dissection, and principles of anterior abdominal wall reconstruction.

dr hab. n. med. Maciej Pawlak is a distinguished and highly respected surgeon specializing in abdominal wall surgery. dr hab. n med. Kamil Bury graduated from the Medical University of Gdańsk and completed his specialization training at the University Clinical Center in Gdańsk, where he obtained his diploma in vascular surgery. He is a co-author of approximately 100 scientific publications and conference reports. Numerous international internships enabled him to become familiar with the latest treatment trends in vascular surgery. Daily, he works at Puck Hospital, where he serves as Medical Director and operating surgeon.
Dr Alexis Theodorou is a surgeon who specializes in emergency and abdominal wall surgery. He is also involved in surgical education and leads the Innovation and AI Task Force. His clinical expertise includes acute surgical care, abdominal wall reconstruction, and minimally invasive techniques. He is deeply committed to advancing modern surgical training, incorporating digital tools and evidence-based methodologies into both education and practice. As chair of the Innovation and AI Taskforce, Dr. Theodorou leads initiatives that utilize artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies to optimise surgical decision-making, enhance patient safety, and improve procedural outcomes across multidisciplinary surgical teams.
dr Toby Hammond is a Consultant General, Colorectal & Laparoscopic Surgeon based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex. His main interests include bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, anal conditions, and hernias.
dr Andrew de Beaux graduated in medicine with Honours from Aberdeen University. His surgical training was mainly in Scotland, with his final year in Adelaide, South Australia. He was appointed Consultant General and Upper GI Surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 2001. Mr. Andrew de Beaux had broad training in General Surgery although his interest focused on upper gastro-intestinal surgery, in particular diseases of the oesophagus and stomach along with gallstone disease. Much of this surgery is performed by keyhole or laparoscopic surgery.
